EAD or H1b when being promoted as H1-b holder?

Hi:
My wife is being promoted to manager with the same company,
in the same dept. She is currently on valid H1b, but has valid (unused) EAD as AOS applicant (my AOS dependent).

What do you suggest? Ther INS suggest that when specialty occupation or capacity changes compared with H1b specialty acccupation that H1b was fiiled, one might not be in status.
Would it be safer to switch to EAD (she has a valid one)? I think
"manager" and "financial analyst" are different capacities, including pay rates, job description, etc. Please, help.

Does not apply to derivative... Dont worry. Ask spouse's new company to process GC based on the manager 's job (just to keep the INS on its toes!!)
