EAD or H1B Extension-- Help

Gurus,
My H1b ( 1st Three year Term) expires this Month end. My 485 is pending Approval ( RD 30-OCT-2001).
Is it better to get H1B Extension or get the EAD?
I ma asking this question becauseI saw postings in this Forum saying that H1B Extensions are being Rejected.
I need you quick advice please... help....

There is never a no-reason trend for H1 B Extension rejections. But if you are afraid of being rejected for H1 extension, apply for EAD as well as H1 extension. Even if h1 extension is refused , you can pursue the EAD path. If you get both, you can travel freely in and out of US with H1 until you are with your sponsoring employer. If you are ever laid off by the sponsoring employer you can use EAD to search for another employer while keeping the GC process alive.

A good suggestion; I am expecting my FP in a Month or so ( If VSC do their Job well) so, If I send my Passport for H1B Ext. what should I do for the FP? In case they ask for the PP....
