EAD+L1A - Can I start my own business ?

Hi - All.I have found this forum pretty useful for people like me who do not have much of a knowledge about these imp thingz.

I have an L1A and am running the business for an IT Company.Its been 120 days that my I-485 has been filed.
My EAD has been approved and I wonder if I can start my own business in a parallel fashion using this EAD (without having to give up my L1A as I can continue this job as long as I want)

I read somewhere that I can pursue some activities in a supplementary way if I dont want to give up my primary status(L1A)

If not , then is there any way in which I can do my own business side-by-side.

Plz help.Thankz.

While you can certainly commence a side business or take secondary employment, such activity relies on your EAD and would result in the loss of your L-1A status, but not your GC.
 
Thanks Real Canadian for your response.

In case as you described, I dont mind losing my L1A status if I have to run a business parallely.I am, however,not comfortable in letting my employer know that I am doing my own business side-by-side.

Is there a way I can do this.Thanks.
