EAD - case suspended

i made an application for an EAD in late 2004 but never received any information from USCIS from them. I've checked the status of the case online and it says a request for more information was sent to me in Mar 2005 and since then my application has now been suspended. I never received this Mar 2005 notice.

I am now married to a USC and am preparing my documentation to submit for AOS. Will this previous EAD application be reopened or will a new EAD be granted to me based on my marital status? Will my previous application cause a problem? Should I hire an immigration atty? I'm confused!!!

It is not the old suspended EAD which will cause problem in your current family based application. It is your legal stay during that time, your working with or without authorization, your visa or status when you were first admitted and so on. Suspension, or denial of EAD for example because not responding to RFE (either you received it or not) by itself is not a major issue. Why you did not track your EAD application 5 years ago

I'm an overstayer and have worked for myself in the interim period
