EAD Approvals (Specify New or Renewal)

Approved, WAC-04-013-XXXXX

Approved on Jan 20th, 2004. Pleasant surprise considering just received AP approval yesterday.

Renewal EAD, filed on 10/16/2003. Total of 3 months.

My EAD renewal has been approved on 01/20/04. It was filed in 11/19/03. Hope to get my AP renewal soon, and the I-485 process gets faster.

MY EAD filed on OCT 10 2003 got approved on Jan 16th.
I received my card on Jan 24.
But, the date on the card starts on 21st jan 2004, not on the day my current EAD expires which is march 30, 2004.
I thought this new EAD will start once the current one finish. Is that so?

My 1st EAD got approved last week. My question is, will I receive a courtesy copy of the approval notice?

The EAD was filed through an attorney.

You are thinking rigth,thats how it should be.

not necessarily...

When I got my second EAD (5 mos back) it did not start where my first EAD ended - there was an overlap. I checked with my lawyer - he says there is no check like that.

As the website, on 1/26/2004 approved notice has been mailed
 
Received the EAD card yesterday in the mail, curiously the validity period is 4/15/04 - 4/14/05. I guess that was because my current EAD is valid until 4/14/04.

I would have been extremely pissed if INS had caused my EAD to overlap, since that is total humbug behaviour. They slow down the process so much that you start applying earlier and earlier, and then suddenly speed it up and if you have overlap, it means you have to apply for 2 EAD cards within the same year. Sounds like fraud to me! Just another way to get our money.

There is nothing that people with overlap can do, but I would definitely send in a complain to the INS Directors office. If enough people complain atleast the next time the problem will be looked at!
 
2nd EAD approved

My EAD got approved on Jan 26th (as per online) and I got my EAD card in the mail on Jan 27th (Wow!! thats lightning fast).....

Validity - 04/25/2004 to 04/24/2005 (as my current EAD expires 04/24/2004)
