My employer agrees to file for either EAD/AP or h1B extension as they want to cut down costs.
Which one should I choose and why?

I need to give decision in a day. Please advice.

---------------H1 is good back up plan if anything goes wrong with I-485 or you want to bring spouse on H4 or want to join new employer with H1 transfer and want to be on H1 status.

***Let the employer file for H1 extension.

I-485 is YOUR petition and EAD AP are based on I-485. if you want EAD AP you can directly file EAD or AP ( you need I-485 filing reciept).
Many remain on H1 status and file EAD AP as back up plan.

So, from your previous post if your I485 denied, the only option now is H1 if you still have time on H and you did not exhaust all the 6 years.

Your safe bet is to be on H1. The reason being: if for some wildest reason your I485 is denied, you can still continue to work, since you would be on H1.
