EAD and H1

I'm on H1 and got my EAD.If I use my EAD with the same employer, even though my H1 is valid till 2008, Can I go back to that H1 if I run into problems with EAD?

My spouse (who is on H4 as of today) got her new H1, which is going to start from Oct 1 2007. What if she used EAD now ? Can she go back to her H1? What should she do if she wants to go back to H1 ?
 
Is there a reason you want to use EAD for the same employer, if you already have valid H1? For your wife, again, it doesn't make sense for her to use EAD, unless she wants to work for another employer instead.

Using EAD will invalidate your H1. You may get it back when it is time for renewal, but it lacks clear regulation from USCIS and anything can happen. I recommend you keep your valid H1B until it is absolutely necessary to switch to EAD.
 
how can I switch from H1 to EAD. I am currently on H1 which will expire by the end of 2008. How can I go about getting a secondary job or start a small business?

I have the same question but mine will be expired Apr 2008. Any suggestion from anyone is appreciated..
