EAD After Wife's Citizenship

I have questions regarding applying for EAD (Employment Permit).

1) When on EAD can you do multiple jobs for different companies?

2) Does the employer has to pay some money to the state for me to work on EAD (like H1B). Is there is a quata limit on EAD? Do companies hesitate to hire people on EAD?

3) If the person gets fired while on EAD will he be illegal?

4) Is EAD more safer then H1B?

5) Can a person runs his own business while on EAD?

6) How long after the wife's citizenship can I get EAD?

7) When I get EAD do I need to change my status from H1B to EAD?

8) Can I travel outside of US on EAD?

9) How long EAD is valid (no of years)?

A1: Yes an individual can work multiple jobs
A2: No quota and no employer costs. EAD is a USCIS granted document authorizing an individual to work
A3: An individual's legality is based on his pending AOS
A4: You are not at the mercy of an employer on EAD. So in a way it is safer than H-1B.
A5: Yes an individual may run his own business on EAD
A6: You will be eligible for an EAD the day you file for AOS
A7: You can stay on H-1B in you like/prefer
A8: EAD has nothing to do with travel outside the US
A9: Usually valid for a year

Wow, that's a lot of EAD questions!

EAD allows you the same rights to work of any American citizen (except
for jobs that require US citizenship of course) or Green Card holder, only for a limited period, usully a year.

Just one more simple question. My wife will apply for her citizenship on July 10 2007. After she will get her citizenship then I will apply for AOS. My question is that what is AOS?

Really? You're going to apply for it but you don't know what it is? ;)

AOS = Adjustment of Status. Its the process for getting a Green Card.
