I will do an infopass in the first week of next month.
Why would they send your file to naturalization section? They are idiots.
Good luck tomorrow. I pray that you get your approval letter tomorrow.
Do update here after you come back from infopass.

on jan 20th.......they told me that they have no information my case is pending and i should go and wait
i told them that eight years have passed my kids were in elementry school and now ready to go to collage .I was young when i applied now i have grey hairs how long u guys want me to wait....she plainly replied ,then what there r people who r waiting much longer than that. I was pissed off i said u r taking pride in saying that people r waiting this long and they r helpless.she didnt care about anything. i dont know what action shold i take really feeling helpless and frustrated.

I am sorry about your experience. Did you talk to your lawyer? Who was the officer. You have been there so many times that by now you recognize them by face. Only a couple of them are helpful. You should talk to your lawyer about WOM.

Can you tell me what did the officer say at the end of your interview? I mean how long did he say it will take for the supervisor to review your case? I was looking through your previous posts but I could not find the details of your interview.
No rush post it here when you have some free time, or direct me to the thread where you have posted the details.

visa not available

today we went for interview.the officer only called my husband ,as he is primary after 45 minutes they called me and kids and didn't ask even a single question from us.at the end of the interview they gave us white papers with check mark on "visa not available". ........anyone knows what does this mean??? (AUG 6 2007)

You should visit your local congressman's office or US senator's office. I am sure there is one close to your home. If you don't get a real answer through them then the only option is WOM.

second interview

we went for second interview on 3rd of feb the immigration officer told that everything is ok and her computer is not working and later she will put our case in computer for approval and she will call us today or tomorrow and and we can come for passport stamping ( she also said that when we will come for passport stamping we should bring some more evidence that we were in canada for the whole time b4 applying here) we wre very happy and waited for her call on 3rd and 4 rth she didnt call this morning we received text message about our case status which says that our case is in initial review

Initial Review

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131, I-130 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or biometrics taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule.

Why did they call you for a second interview? Can you share the questions the officer asked you at the interview?
Was it a male or female officer? Was it the same officer who interviewed you the first time.
You should make an infopass right away. Don't wait for the phone call. My feeling is that the moment we leave they forget about our files.

my husband took an info pass appointment on 2nd feb . they told him that someone is working on your case .he waited for quite sometime and then lady came to him (she was not the same officer who took our interview in 2007) and said that we need small interview you can come now or later.my husband said he is ready for interview. she took him in the small room downstairs administer oath and starts checking files and asked regular questions like having same employer, address confirmation, small things etc afterwards she said that she has everything only thing she needs is recent paystubs and 2007 and 2008 tax return she said come back 7 30 tomorrow moring
same afternoon he received call from her and she said that instead of 7 30 come at 10 and bring your family as well next day we all went there along with our attorney she called three of us(me my husband and lawyer first) and again started checking files in between she asked for marriage certifcate my daughters birth certificate etc etc she also collected paystubs and and tax returns. then she said that i think everything is ok i just need your daughters fingerprints
after sometime she left the room and said that let me make photo copies when she came back she again started checking files and this time she said i need to discuss more regarding the period when you were in canada.
we already have every proof that we left canada in 1996 after staying 3 days my childs birth certiface our citizen crds passports u have everything. she was very friendly she yes i have everything but there should be something more that shows that u were actually living there and she said that i am asking because if at the time of applying citizenship they could not find these documents it will be a nightmare
she said that my computer here is not working i will go to other computer put this in computer for approval and then today or tomorrow i will call u for passport stamping and when u guys come bring along whatever u have with u regarding canadian stay. we were really happy she didnt call and today we received the emails
then we called lawyer he said he dont trust their online status and asked us to make infopass for monday and he will go with us.so we mads an appointment again..........really have no idea whats going on.

I am sorry to hear that you have not received your approval notices. I hope you will get them soon. I am going to DC office next week. I will share my experience when I get back.

hopefully u will get ur approval. we r confused about our status . just after 2 days of interview our status showed initial review and there is no change yet.

today received CPO emails for husband and my son. mine and others kids status still shows initial review

Congratulations on your partial good news. Hopefully you will get your approval soon.
I went for an infopass today, waited for five plus hours and in the end got the standard reply. The file is with the officer, no decision has been made. If you wish file an inquiry fill out this form.
Did you ever see any movement after filling out the inquiry form?
I am tired of waiting.

u should fill that form and initiate SR. same thing happened with us and after 5th or 6th infopass appointment(we made appointments almost every other day)they finally opened our case and decided.we also got help from congressman(i dont know it worked or not).i hope u will get ur your positive desion soon.inshallah.

How often can one make info pass appointment? Is there a limit to how many appointments one can make? Did your online status change or the date after you opened SR??
Also can you share the format of your congressman's letter??
I will keep bugging them until I get my decision inshallah.
thanks.

i dont think there is any limit on infopass appointments(although they say to wait for 45 days but they never care).go as often as can,and try to see supervisor. ask them that u want see some supervisor upstairs .our online status didnt change after any SR. when we called congressmans office they faxes us application and we filled our information and send them back.
dont loose hope try your best (i know its hard) .u will get ur approval soon
