I am holding E-2 visa, which will expire in Feb, 2007. I have go back to my country to re-apply for E-2 vasa. My sister is US citizen and planing to apply green card for me. I was wondering if my sister's petition will affect my future E-2 extension. Can E-2 holder allow dual intent like H-1 and L-1?

It will cause problem when you renew E visa next time. E visa is not dual intent.

Got PR? is correct, E-2 visas are not dual intent. You would have problems upon renewal. You do not have to return to your home country to obtain an E-2 visa extension however. You can always apply for an extension through USCIS and extend your stay. Of course you will not have a visa to travel. If you ever decided to travel then you would need to completely re-apply in your home country. Also note, an approval from USCIS has no bearing on an approval from your home country. If your sister applies for you for a green card, it may take many years. Check the visa bulletin for current processing dates for your country.

Actually, I am the spouse of E-2 visa holder. My husband is the principle holder of E-2 Visa. My question is that if my own sister filed green card application for me. Will it still affect the renewal of my husband's E-2 visa in the future?
