DV2014 - 1 MAY NOT SELECTED (quick question)

Hello, I'm from Europe single and in my 20's and First of all I must say that I'm amazed by how good and friendly this forum is!

My question is: FOR ALL THOSE WHO received the message : "HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED..." the result is final ? Or until 30 September 2014 I could be selected ?

Honestly I just do not know if I should still check it periodically or just forget about it and wait for the DV2015 since I've also no idea if there is going to be be a 2nd DRAW for this year (if yes, when) ?

Well, checking your status once every month or so won't hurt. Be hopeful, that's all that I can say to you!!!!

"gabam" thank you and yes I try to stay positive and hopeful, the only problem is when all you really want is to move to the states, study and live there...I'm in my early 20's and I know that now would be the perfect momment to make the move..(if it was that easy).
I even have one cousin living in the USA (GC holder), but there is nothing she can do for me as far as I know..She is not rich neither the owner of a big company.
But talking about me, I'm just a regular guy and as far as my studies, High school Diploma is where I stopped.

With all this being said, I really don't see any other realistic way to get a GC, other than DV lottery... Do you agree guys ?

Marry us citizen or get sponsored by company after h1b or other visa are the only two ways to get a green card besides lottery.

I am also in a comparable situation as you and yes this is also the perfect time to move for me but i can't, i really hope immigration law will change and make easier the immigration for people with advanced degree like in Canada. It's my only hope, lottery is too random to make plans on top of it (register in october, think a lot about it until may, and then got a bit disapointed and then restart the process again and again). sad but true.

I feel like this year wasn't a good one for European, most of selected are from Australia/NZ, it's seems.

You really think the law is going to change for the better? I think eventually change it, which most likely will take a few years from now...and then it's to make it even more restrictive!
I keep reading stuff about this H1B visa....guess I need to do some more research since I don't really know what it stands for

Oh my god, it is so true that it almost hurts! And keep in mind this is my 1st year, how Naive can I be to have this kind of expectations towards a lottery, LOTTERY!
Anyway, I can not imagine the frustration of those who have participated for the last 5..4..3..years etc.
Hopefully we will still have DV2015 and a few more...But I really start questioning what are my chances, possibilities every single day. The only bad thing is that it get's to the point when I get distracted from my life here, my studies here in Europe etc, all because I've kinda lost the hope on my studies/degree etc here in Europe.

English is not my first language and I've wrote this fast but I'm sure many people can relate to me, even those who are not single or in their 20's. I bet after all everyone is trying to be "happy", and for that many times you need to be in the right place and of course be always willing to pay the price for it.
I wish luck to everyone and ONE DAY WILL BE MY and YOUR DAY!

My case is identical to your "ONEDAYIMAY". hope the DV2015 be different for both of us :)

Hi guys.based on how the debate is going,it seems like the bill might pass anyway.Though we would want it not to,i think we need to explore other options of fulfilling our American Dream. What about keeping our ears open and we see if we can take advantage of any of the provided options.Do you think visa W is an option?
