Hi,
I recently got my NL from KCC. My case number is EU00011XXX.
I a lot about DS-230 and the whole process.
However, question 10 and 11 from DS-230 remain unclear to me.
DS230-Q10. Permanent address in the United States where you intend to live, if known (street address including ZIP code). Include the name of a person who currently lives there.
DS230-Q11. Address in the United States where you want your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) mailed, if different from address in item #10 (include the name of a person who currently lives there).
I have only one friend in the US, but I cannot live at his place in the beginning and I also do not intend to do so. I intend to stay at a hotel for some weeks before I find some flat to rent.
Please, anyone who already have a GC and passed thru all this for advice.
Please, even if you don't know the answers to all of these questions, please answer just what you are certain for.
1) when is the latest point of time when I can fill in Q10 from DS-230?
a) need to fill it before sending back DS-230 to KCC
b) need to fill it on the interview in the consular office
c) need to fill it at the airport (POE)
d) not need to fill it all. When I arrive in US, I can just specify the address of the hotel, where I am going to live for some weeks after my entry in US.
2) when is the latest point of time when I can fill in Q11 from DS-230?
a) need to feel it before sending back DS-230 to KCC
b) need to fill it on the interview in the consular office
c) need to fill it at the airport (POE)
d) not need to fill it all. When I arrive in US, I can just specify the address of the hotel, where I am going to live for some weeks after my entry in US.
POE
3) If I leave Q10 and Q11 empty or (N/A) is this going to decrease my chances on the interview or after it or even before it?
4) If I fill in Q10 and Q11 what are the consequences for the person who lives there? Does he need to become my sponsor or whatever? I really don't intend to live on my friend's address at all or to ask him for sponsorship. Is he going to bare any responsibility for me, because I wrote down his address in Q10 and/or Q11?
5) Do I need to have a sponsor at all if I can prove I have at least $13 000?
6) If I am sponsoring myself do I need to fill in myself I-864, Affidavit of Support. At what point of time?
7) Is it possible that even though I can prove I have $13 000, the consular officer will make me search for a sponsor?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
