DV

Lol. True. Will let you know of my progress. Will in fact keep you updated in real time when I am face to face with the CO. I also figure you'd make for an inadequate official DV source for my "story";). So I will keep you on the sidelines as a casual observer while I look for the Ambassador himself

Hi mom, I have read about Visa denials and kept wondering. Why would KCC schedule an interview for Someone who they know is going to fail an interview? Is this some form of revenue collection for the American Gvt? :)

No, the DV processing fee isn't a form of revenue generation for the US government, the total amount of money is like a drop in the bucket for the U.S. government/economy. KCC by law does not have the jurisdiction to disqualify or refuse to schedule interview appointments for people with fraudulent cases. All they can do is flag such cases for the attention of the IO. Some embassies as a matter of fact, allow people with such cases to either withdraw their petition and not go through with the interview and hence not pay, or in some cases only the principal applicant is allowed to pay prior to the interview to see if they could convince the IO otherwise. Basically giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Anyway, the decision to go through with the interview or not rests with the selectee. Maybe the question should be why is someone who does not qualify or didn't follow the stated rules, knowing fully well the possibility of being denied, bothering to proceed with the selection?

Thanks mom. Your last paragraph makes for a very powerful newspaper article quote. :).

This place is turning out to be more DV stress relieving than I had anticipated. :pMom, you should have warned me that there is no room for humour in the midst of the DV storm. :(. Now look I have to fight off your army of protectors:).

No you cannot change your entry. However, the education information is not used to pick winners. So - relax. No issue. If selected you can enter it accurately on the next step of the process.

Again. The education information you put on the ENTRY FORM does not affect your chances of being selected. Now - if selected, you then have to show you are eligible (as I already answered).

They don't presort on that, or any aspect of what info you have entered. That is what you prove after selection, Some people are eligible on work experience even without completed high school.
