I recently filed for green card through marriage, but as luck would have it I got DV for 2006 which one would be faster?
2. IF DV is faster how do I go about withdrawing my application through marriage and proceed with the DV?

Thanks

Go through DV. There are conditions attached to GC through marriage. However, you will have to prove your income. Also, there will be a FBI background and name check which will take the same time regardless which avenue you take.

This is just an advice. Please act at your own risk.

depending on where you live.... in some places GC through marriage takes months, and in some - years. If I were to win the DV lottery, I'd do both processes at the same time. you can have two AOS applications pending. At the interview of whatever comes first, you will be offered to cancel the other one.

If the marriage is to a US citizen, the decision is yours.
If you think it is a fairly straigtforward case, you may opt
not to do DV and save your money. I personnally would
apply for DV anyway. There are so many things that could
go wrong.

If the marriage is to a GC holder, then it is nobrainer.
Apply for DV. It takes 5+ years to get GC for those with
GC spouses.

At the interview, will the officer offer to cancel the other pending case BEFORE or AFTER they approve the case? I spoke with some lawyer and he told me that they will interview me after they cancel the other pending case and when/if I am denied, I will have no pending case and might have to go home right away or re-file something else to stay here... Since my lottery case is not 100% sure (overstayed but less than 180 days), if I get denied I will lose both Marriage case and Lottery case...
