I was born in Brazil (not elegible) but I have a birth certificate from Egypt (elegible) since my dad is egyptian.
Can I apply?
Thank you

You would have to cross-charge eligibility to Egypt and, even then, only if you can prove that your parents' presence in Brazil at the time of your birth was temporary. @SusieQQQ, @Britsimon and @Sm1smom are pretty knowledgeable on this: hopefully they can provide more info.

Thank you Emily.
The thing is, my dad was not a resident when I was born but my mom was.
Its tricky, because I do have my egyptian birth certificate.

I'm a bit annoyed to see a duplicate question in my inbox and on the thread. Please post once, and a general question like this should be on the thread not in the inbox. Which I've already answered... but in any case I will again because this should be open...
In my understanding no you are not eligible if you had one resident parent.
Presumably your Egyptian birth certificate still lists your correct place of birth, in Brazil, and it is place of birth not where the certificate was issued that matters.

Does your Egyptian B/C list your place of birth as Egypt or Brazil? If it lists your place of birth as Brazil, then the fact that it is an 'Egyptian' B/C is irrelevant. In addition, your mom being a Brazilian resident at the time of your birth makes you ineligible for cross chargeability.

Um, every single forum I've ever been on has different sections for private messages and public threads. This is no different. I didn't see anything saying you've never used the Internet before. And yes,it is annoying because those of us here are on our own time and our own dime, so to end up repeating the same thing for no benefit is an irritation. Generally, people thank us for our help. Anyway, as you're ineligible to apply you clearly won't be back in the forum again, so no need to worry about you further. Bye.

Hi everyone,
My brother is applying this year. He is filling out the Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Form. He has Turkish characters in his name (soft g - g with an accent on top). The form says that you should enter the name as it appears in the passport. The name appears with Turkish characters on the passport. Should he enter with Turkish characters? Or should he just use letters in the English alphabet and just use g instead of soft g. Thanks in advance.
