what was it before?

Oh, I think I heard there were problems with the site a little while back and it went down for a day or two?I guess they’re making up for that.

Hello. I'm in the process of applying for DV 2026. I have a high school diploma, unmarried, no kids, and currently an F1 student in the U.S. I am 17 years old. My mother (divorced) and my younger brother (14 years old) are in my home country. Is this the correct way to enter:

Entry 1: I will enter myself (since I have a proper high school diploma)
Entry 2: My mother will enter with both my brother and me as derivatives -- so, 3 photos will be uploaded

1. Can I be included in both entries as described above?
2. If so, can the same photo of me be used in both entries?

Yes
Yes

I applied this year as well - best of luck to all.
I'm a novice with "just" 8 applications (me and my wife so technically 16) yet still below the expected value of 100.

Wow, that's a lot of bad luck ;-(

Are you sure you are not disqualifying yourself by re-using photos from previous years, bad photos, etc.?

It does not qualify as bad luck quite yet as it is still below the Expected period of 100 years (say 50is considering my wife).

I re-read and take new photos every year so that is definitely not the case. Nevertheless I am not not 100% sure that my photos are perfect -I do ofc read the instructions and follow every single rule and suggestion- but yet there is always some element of uncertainty.

The DV lottery for me is a hedging plan, I keep it rolling but I keep trying to get to the US by other means (still very hard even with PhD from cantab)

It’s not “bad luck”. It’s a lottery with something like a 0.5% chance of being selected. The surprise is when you are selected, not when you are not.

if the entry form accepts the photos you are not being rejected for those. The only rejections before selection are duplicate entries. Anything else is after selection.
