DV 2026 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Yes! But i was wondering if I also need to present elementary school diploma alongside with my high school diploma. Thank you!
At this point, I think you should take a look at the "AOS Package" tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet.

Hi Mom,

I have a few questions and apologize if I missed these in the spreadsheet.

Some personal background:
Currently on F1 with expiration date in OCT2026, I20 end date is AUG 2028, and I'm expecting to graduate either MAY or AUG of 2025.

1. I see in the AOS process that that "Don't rush to do DV payment if you have a high CN number". Is there a range/idea of what number is considered high? My CN is around SA2200, and historically I see that it becomes current around April/May. Would this be considered too high?
2. I read through and had some questions about DS-260. I see one benefit about submitting is that KCC will not send you reminder email as they understand your processing option. Does that mean paying DV fee will serve the same purpose of letting them know (benefit 1 and 2 listed in the spreadsheet)? If so, is submitting DV payment enough as Marriage doesn't apply to me and I'm not likely switching to CP. Or am I missing any obvious benefits that's not mentioned on the spreadsheet? (Except benefit 5 relataed to 2NL)
3. About benefit 5 of 2NL, I know it's typically triggered by DS260 submission and sometimes (not guaranteed) by DV payment. I want to confirm that if the answer of first question is no (my number is not high and I should start preparing for it), submitting DS 260 has no downside as DV payment shows intent to immigrate anyway?
4. I see that some interviews date for April current CN are in late August/September/October. I know legal status doesn't matter much if it's received but would you recommend me to 1. Graduate May/Aug as planned (and apply OPT early so I remain lawful status from May/Aug to Oct); 2. Delay graduation to December 2026;

Thank you!

1. I typically do not undertake CN analysis, and therefore cannot tell you a range of what is considered a high CN, or if your CN is too high, especially since we do not currently have the total number of DV2026 selectees or the breakdown by region.
2. I can’t help you decide if you should submit the DS260 form or not, as it seems to me that is what your Q2 is trending towards. While DS260 form submission is not compulsory for processing AOS, the pros of doing so have already been provided. Therefore, the best response I can provide you with is to point you towards the response already provided in the FAQ tab regarding this question: “I do not plan on submitting the DS260 form. Will I get my 2NL?”
3. DS260 submission also signifies an immigrant intent, not just the DV administrative fee payment.
4. While being OOS after AOS application has been accepted may not be an issue, having a valid status throughout the entire process is highly recommended as it ensures a fall back status should the AOS application get denied (an approval is not guaranteed for any applicant). Being in OPT, or delaying graduation till December will both constitute being in a valid legal status. So you’ll need to decide on your own as to which of those status you’ll prefer to be in as I can’t help you make that decision.

Hello!
1. I was filling out the I-485 and realized there is no space for social media. Is this correct, or am I missing something?
2. Also, it asks for total household assets. Should we provide the title deed? If so, should I bring the original for the interview?
3. My husband has 1/4 of some properties he inherited with his three brothers. Should that also be included in the calculation of the household assets?
Thank you!

1. Just focus on the questions you see on the form and answer them accordingly. Don’t stress over what is not there or what you think should be there that is not there.
2. Is this a US based asset? If yes, there’s no requirement to provide the title deed with the AOS package.
3. Technically speaking, the form is about your US based assets - assets that can be easily liquidated should the need arise. A 1/4 ownership means your husband cannot easily liquidate the property should the need arise. Same with liabilities by the way. If you’re going to list assets outside the US, will you be doing the same for non US based liabilities?

Thank you!!
1. So my response to assets should be 0 if I don't have assets in the US?
2. The same with the income, I have a lease on my home country for a property and my husband have a business there as well, should we indicate 0 in income since we don't have US income?
Thank you so much for your help!

Morning Mom,

Last question - if I'm uncertain if my number will be selected this year, should I still apply for the lottery this year for FY-2027? Will there be any issues in my current submission when doing so?

Yep, you should. Highly recommended as a back-up plan, no impact to the current selection.

Hi mom,
I received email from KCC after submitting my DS 260 for dv 2026, thanking me for notifying KCC. I have also received the confirmation receipt of payment. Do I need to attached confirmation letter from KCC when my case becomes current to my documents or the payment receipt is enough?

Yes, that email is your 2NL. Be sure to spend some quality time going over the AOS process spreadsheet as this is already covered in there.

TIMELINE SPREADSHEET UPDATE
Forum members will no longer need to send in an access request in order to edit or update the DV 2026 Timeline Spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has now been incorporated with the new My DV Timeline AOS Form (Google Form). Once the form gets filled and submitted, the Timeline spreadsheet will get populated with the data that has been input into the form. You will have the ability to always go back and update and resubmit the form at any time to include new data. You do not have to wait until the end of your AOS journey before filling and submitting the form. The earlier forum members start utilizing the form to update the Timeline spreadsheet, the better as everyone benefits from being able to follow one another's progress at an early stage.

Apologies to the members who previously manually updated the previous Timeline spreadsheet. Kindly use the new My DV Timeline AOS Form (Google Form) to add in your data to the new spreadsheet.

Shout outs to MrBobert who came up with the idea, in addition to providing some hand holding to make this a reality. Actually, Simon did float the idea to me a couple of years back, and I just never bothered to implement it (yeah, feeling sheepish now :p considering how this new process will streamline things for everyone). Also, shout out to Susie for additional support with the UAT.

Hey again mum,

I'm in a bit of another funny situation. I was selected in the DV2026 lottery (2026OC12XX) and wasn't expecting my number to become current until Feb - May of 2026. However, given the recent visa bulletin, it's looking like it could come much sooner than expected.

The thing is, I'm currently in the states on an M1 visa and am expecting to finish my studies sometime towards the latter months of the year. Given that my number is likely to become current at a similar time to when I am expecting to finish my studies, would it be wise to go ahead and start the AOS process?

For context, I have already submitted my I-20 and picked my interview location as the Sydney Consulate (however I am aware that I can go ahead and change this). I also obviously no longer intend on doing the E3.

Thank you in advance!

One opinion: You may want to wait and see at least what the next bulletin looks like - there’s no guarantee that they will continue at a rapid pace just because they started off quite high.

Thanks Susie,

I just watched BritSimons recent video actually. I'll hold off from jumping the gun for now.

Thanks again!
