DV 2026 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Correct, you wouldn't have any IRS tax return transcript. You however should still be prepared to demonstrate how will overcome presumed public charge.
Hi @Sm1smom, hope you are doing well. I’m in a similar situation and wanted to ask if you could please advise on how best to demonstrate that we will not become a public charge. Would providing a financial sponsor be sufficient, or are there other types of evidence you would recommend including?

Take a look at the AOS Process spreadsheet.

Hello everyone,

Has anyone here submitted their I-485 package after the hold? If so, have you seen any movement yet (biometrics scheduled or interview notices)?

My case number became current this month. I’ve already paid the $330 DV fee, received my 2NL, and completed my medical exam. I’m unsure whether I should submit my I-485 package now or wait a bit to see if there are any updates regarding the hold.

Additionally, I may need to travel to my home country for about a week at the end of March. If I submit my I-485 and then travel while it’s pending, would that be allowed, or would it be considered abandoning my application?

Alternatively, I could wait and submit the application after I return, and hopefully by then the hold will have been lifted.

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello. Thank you for creating this forum.
Is anyone inquiring about your pending cases with a senator or congressman or a Tier 2 officer? Still waiting on the congressional inquiry here - no scheduled interview - fingerprints taken 10/21. I wonder if there is anyone with October as the current month still waiting, or am I the last one remaining behind? For those of you applying now, are your cases being accepted? Sharing info helps everyone. Thanks

Traveling after filing for AOS without an approved AP will lead to the AOS application being deemed as abandoned. The exception to this is if you currently hold a dual intent visa such as L1/L2, H1/H4 visa.

Thank you! I’m currently on F1. I’ll look into applying for AP if I really need to travel.

Hello! I have the same situation. I applied all of the documents for AOS at October and have got fingerprints taken on 4th of December. After that they approved EAD and have sent it December 19th. (I have already got EAD). But for now I am still waiting for any updates.

Hi, I submitted my I-485 package on the last day of 2025 and completed my fingerprinting today. The process is still moving forward as usual, except that the green card issuance is currently on hold.

If you guys continue to add your case details to the 2026 Timeline Spreadsheet, it would be a lot easier for you all to monitor one another's progress without constantly asking about each other's progress. This has proven to be a very useful tool over the years for DV selectees processing AOS. You'll need to fill out the My DV Timeline AOS Form to enable you manage your case data on the Timeline spreadsheet.

Hi @Sm1smom, I had a few unrelated questions...
1. In case I have more than one citizenship, am I supposed to list them all when filling I-485? (or, just of the country that I entered the visa lottery with). In case I should list them all, am I also supposed to include a passport copy of my "secondary citizenship"?
2. I am applying together with my spouse, and according to the "AOS Package" instructions in the spreadsheet, her application need to include the 1NL. Is this intentional? Does the 1NL need to be included in both the primary and derived applications? (and, what about 2NL which isn't mentioned for the spouse's application).
3. I'm currently on L1 (blanket) visa. Am I supposed to provide documents that show my original eligibility for the L1 visa (e.g. I-129S), or does providing the visa itself and I-94 enough?
4. Does the derived applicant (spouse) needs to provide evidence for her own education? Or just the primary applicant?
5. In case I've been living in the US for less than a year and don't have a W-2, or tax return documents. Does bank statements, pay slips and employment verification letters considered to be enough to establish financial independence?

Thank you!

1. Yes, list both/all citizenships. No.
2. Yes. Yes. No.
3. No. Yes.
4. No, not unless your eligibility is being cross charged to your spouse's country of birth.
5. Could be. You cannot provide what you do not have.

Hi @Sm1smom, I’m in a similar situation but I’m on an H-1B visa. I understand that leaving the U.S. after filing AOS is generally considered abandonment unless you’re on a dual-intent visa like H-1B.

Is there any specific step I need to take before traveling to notifying USCIS so that they know I intend to return and that my AOS application should not be considered abandoned? Thank you very much!

Nothing required. They can tell by the information listed on your application.

Have Adjustment of Status (AOS) applicants experienced progress in their I-485 cases since the DV pause, including interview scheduling? If so, what were the outcomes of those interviews?
