DV 2017 timeline? Help please

I am A little confused on how the lottery works.

We submitted our entry....

When do we get informed if we have a number? When do they start to interview and when do the interviews finish?

Do you find out at the interview whether you have been succesful? If not when do you get informed?

Thanks so much! Just want to start preparing just in case! Someone has to be lucky.... I could be us.

Feeling emotional about it all today as my mum just went back to the USA

DV 2017 results will be released in May 2016. No notification will be sent out to selectees. You will have to check online to see if you've been selected or not. Interview starts on October 1st 2016 and ends on Sept 30th 2017. One may be notified immediately following the interview whether they're successful or not, but that's not guaranteed until an applicant gets back their passport with the IV attached to it.
