Audio - welcome. Is that table of data available in a spreadsheet?

So handy as usual!!! ;) Thank you!!!

Now that you saw that.... do you think we are gonna be current this year?

Well tell your head: "think about 2150 so we can meet her!" hahahaha is that a good incentive for your head?

LOL - yes indeed. That is my new minimum target for SA - if we are going to have a welcome to the US party (as Veronice wants to arrange) - we will need plenty of Latinas!

OK - thanks Audio.

I have rekeyed that into a spreadsheet and added the visas issued number. Please let me know if you think I mistyped anything.

I'm working as hard as I can to put together the number of selectees those same years... to find out if we can get the quota for SA or at least an estimate that lets us calculate the real odds for DV2014. Does that makes sense?

Houston: we have a problem. I can't seem to find the number of selectees before 2011 :( and that data is soooooo important!!!)

Vero, I see what you are trying to do - I tried that a few month back. However I'm not sure there correlation between how many selectees there are and how many get visas. Basically I reasoned that the quota could be predicted based on the selectee split. So - a region that got 40% of the selectees should get 40% of the global quota. THe trouble is - it doesn't seem to actually happen that way. Different response and success rates mean 1000 selectees in SA is not going to get the same number of visas as 1000 selectees in AF for example. Then there is the bloody annoying KCC who are not behaving like they are splitting up the 4620 selectees into 12 to drive the VBs. There are too many factors at work here.

Hahahahaha You are so right! Bloody KCC!!!

Well, I got the data, I have only 2 years left so I'm getting it anyway....

What I think about SA (and I don't want to "sound" pathetic) is that the region never meets its quota. I mean, the quota with or without the nacara involved. There are always some visas left in the whole process and I think some of them are from this region and maybe that's why for this year they oversubscribed that much. But apart from the more-than-duplicated selection for DV-2014, we can see that they kept the high jump in selection for 2015. That way, from 2206 selectees in 2013, we jumped to 4620 and then down to 3999...

That's what keeps me hoping at least, so it Works for me. Now for the next VB please somebody give me a call if it's worth.

I love your positivity!

That works.

It is actually interesting to see the percentage of selectees to visas issued. Ignoring 2012 though it is between 40 and 88 percent - so that is all over the place and doesn't tell us much. It looks like interest weakened between 2007/2008 - perhaps the economic crash - that would tie in with what happened in EB temp visas. The H1 allocation was lasting for months up until the last couple of years - interest in moving to the USA seems to be rising....
