DV-2014 Lottery Selected - Next Steps & Question?

Hello,

I applied in DV-2014 lottery last year in Oct 2013. At that time, I was in India and used my husband's chargeability as he is an Indian citizen but born in Libya (Africa). Between then and now, my husband relocated to US on H1B and I came here as well on H4. Today I checked and found that my application was selected in DV-2014 lottery.

1.) My question is, being in US now, Can I simply do Adjustment of Status even though my DV application gives the Post as Mumbai as I was in India when I had applied? If Yes, How should I go about it?

2.) If the above answer is Yes, when do I initiate this adjustment of status? My case number is 2014AFXXXX8XXX (eight thousand something)? My H4 to H1 is also in process as I got selected in the H1B lottery and the result is in decision status.

Please let me know on the above queries.
I would really appreciate it.

1. Yes you can do aos.
2. Start the aos process when your number becomes current which will probably be October 2013.
 
AOS Approval?

Thank you for answering. I called KCC today just to confirm and they said I will need to get the AOS approval from the USCIS and gace me the 800 number for USCIS.

How should I get approval from USCIS? Should I visit a field office or need to send something to get this approval?

Going to a FO for now isn't going to give you any useful information per se, you'll probably leave the place feeling more confused than when you arrived - a few others have reported on this being the case.

If you go through the DV2014 AOS thread (and possibly the DV2013 and other DV AOS threads), you will find all the information you need regarding AOS

guys i made a slight mistake while submitting initial dv forms. i forgot to write my father's middle name that time. but right now when filling out the DS-0230 and sending it to kcc i have written his middle name and sent it. does it make any difference or will it affect my chances of getting the second letter. my case number is 2014AS00007***. and when do you think the second will letter come?? thank you
 
The error shouldn't be an issue - it is important that you got it right on the 230.

Based on this years visa bulletin, you should get notice around April/May of next year.

guys i need a slight help.
i sent my files to kcc through fedex and they confirmed the delivery on 3rd june 2013. then i emailed kcc to confirm my delivery. then i got back an email from them which just said that they have received my email. they did not mention anything about further proccessing of the documents. i'm quite sure i sent them the email with my correct case number, full name and date of birth.
so i'm confused whether everyone who inquires to kcc get similar sorts of email or am i the only one.
can anyone who emailed them say what kind of reply we them from kcc initially.
Plz help!!!
