Your number is very low. Roughly speaking they process about 7 000 cases per month. That means (again, roughly speaking) you'll be up for an interview in the third month of processing, ie December 2011. That means you'll have to get cracking with getting your civil documents, specifically the unabridged birth certificates (home affairs can take forever with these), passport and your matric certificate.I'm also trying to figure out how the numbering works. My number is listed in my signature. I guess that means that my number is 16000's? Is that low or high?
It means your visa interview will be in October/November 2011. The higher the number, the longer you wait for an interview date.Mines CN : 2012AF00009***
Not sure what that means but im presuming im in the 9000"S for visa interview?
Once you have the green card (ie become a permanent resident) your dad may leave for good if he wants to. He will loose his GC if he is absent from the US for more than 12 months, but yours wont be affect by his loss of PR.Will this cancel my status aswell the main applicant being out of the country?
I agree with you that it was devastating to annul the results for the 22k ...especially for those that had returned their forms. I have friends that fall into that category.I am really happy for all of you that won the 2nd round of the lottery. I won the first round and I must say it is devastating to lose it. We are still fighting to have our win re-instated especially since we had our paperwork into KCC BEFORE the 13 May when they voided the draw. We did not win in the 2nd round but then not many of the 22K did.
Hello from London,
I have also won in the DV-2012 (2nd time round, not so lucky in 1st round). My CN is 2012AF00067xxx (high nr) so I guess this means that I am going to have to wait pretty long before being called for an interview (?). Can anyone confirm?
I was born in SA but been living in the UK for 14 years, and been playing the DV lottery for the last 3 years. I figured what do I have to loose, right? So anyway I had a look at the paperwork that I would need during the interview, and the ones that stand out as a small problem for me are :
Birth certificates for me and my wife (We don't have the long-form type which I believe is required)
Marriage certificate (We don't have a the long-form type which I believe is required)
Police records (Looks like I will need to request this from both the SA and British Police)
As I will be needing ALL these docs, I am thinking of asking bunnyhop.co.za to get it for me. I am just hoping that we won't be receiving any more emails from the DOS explaining that this 2nd lottery result has to be redone as well.
I live in Australia and did not need to have it notarised or apostilled. They accepted the certificate exactly as it was issued by the SAPS.Should I request for notarisation of our police clearances when submitting the application? Any previous SA winners that have been through this that can assist with this query?
