DV 2010 Entry form- "14. Number of Children"

Hi.
Regarding to that part "14. Number of Children".
If I dont have any child, how I must fill that?
I heard three different options.
1) Write "0"
2) Write "N/A" (it means not applicable)
3) Leave empty

Which one is correct?
Past DV winners who has no any children, how did you fill that?

Thank you.

I'm not sure about which one is right. There are three different ideas.
May a past DV winner give an answer please?

'0' or 'None' is the proper answer.

'N/A' would be ambiguous.

Leaveing it blank may leave your application incomplete.

It's not really a big deal. Just enter 0 or NA, it really won't matter, but best to enter something rather than leave blank.

No one is trying to catch you out.

Personally I think '0' is better than 'NA' as '0' answers the question properly.

You cannot put there anything other than a number 0 through 20.
Putting N/A will cause an error, and you will have to retype.
Leaving it blank is the same as putting 0 there.

If you have more than 20 children, you are in trouble. Hopefully, you will have to put first 20 of them, and explain at the interview your application with 22 kids was rejected.

7ooda, Dematra, Orlandovillas and Raevsky;Thank you so much guys for clear explanation.

We know the total number of entries submitted for almost all regions. We also know the number of members of the families which won. You could estimate the probability to win. You need to know average number of members in the family. I know the number for the whole world overall. That number could be used for each region.

50.000 winners / 9.100.000 applicants = 0.549 %

Differs from country to country though.

Of course ... There are a couple of different factors that may or may not be taken into account when determining probabilities (such as % of disqualified entries or country of chargeability), that's why I asked :-)

The inclusion of Russia will probably also result in quite a few additional applicants compared to DV-2009, thus reducing the odds for everyone else (in Europe).

Ofcourse.

If you're married too, the chance is doubled.
