Those who had their interviews and were put on AP,post experiences here as well as successful AP...........

Most people with a positive result will post...some will post if the outcome is still unknown and they are waiting...but people who got denied are hardly ever gonna write on the forum. I have seen 1 or 2 who did write and asked what they could do next.

If a person doesn't post all of a sudden after writing on this forum a lot and stating they will post their interview results and haven't done it, I take that as a sign they didn't have a positive interview...hopefully I'm wrong, but why wouldn't some one not post after they have posted over and over...

why they asking for AP? I mean whats the reason and what they mean by it?

Could mean anything...for example they might check if the I-134 is for real, or if the papers are not fake, a marriage is for real, or perhaps the case file hasn't arrived yet, which is the best option to still get the GC.

Most times they won't give out the info why AP is happening. In many cases it takes weeks to months and it can cause the time frame to be over to obtain the GC. Mostly you see it happening in certain countries. I rarely have heard of it happening to people from Europe or maybe they didn't report it.

currycrab, this is way off topic but...everytime I see your name I miss my home and the good food there..I'm assuming you come from the land of calypso too or close by..lollollol

thats mean if my interview on july or augest and I get AP I have a big chance to lose Gc? do you think that? I am already scared of that

Everybody is scared they forgot something, etc...but if you check and recheck all your paper work and have nothing to hide and never over stayed your visa or have a criminal background and original papers, then you have nothing to worry.

Specially if your interview is in July or August, make sure you check again before taking your paperwork and make sure you have a I-134 handy in case they want it...maybe you don't need it, but just in case you don't have to go back and try to get one.

Most people who had their interview got their GC and felt it was easier then they thought. :)

Hi All,

I had my DV lottery interview recently in Fiji and it went quite bad.I was given a refusal worksheet and asked to bring in an I-134.They took my passport and all my original documents though.

The major issue during the interview was my sponsor. He gave a simple letter to say that he'll support me and I will be living with him in the United States.

I didnt know him personally but in America there is a group of Fiji people who assist other Fiji people who want to immigrate to the United States as green card lottery winners. They normally help those whose families dont wanna help them.I got the letter from one such man.

These people (who help out) also run a casino in the USA and I was supposed to work with them when I arrived in the US.

The consular officer asked me questions like:

How to you know this person?

I said I applied for the green card lottery program through so and so organisation and they are assisting me with relocating to the United States.

Then he asked :

Have you ever met him(my sponsor)?

I said no.

He went on to ask if I was willing to live with someone I dont know?

I said these are a group of Fiji people who assist other people who want to immigrate to the USA as green card lottery winners. They run a casino and I will be working with them as well. These are very helpful people and I confide in them.

I work in a bank here in Fiji and the officer said that theres a big difference between working in a bank and at a casino in the United States.I agreed with him but said that I dont mind starting small upgrading my skills and then moving in to something better.

He said 'So you want to study?' I said yes.

He then said that its hard to start in the United States at the moment and he needs me to bring an I-134 from my sponsor.I will be getting that soon.

Will by visa be rejected coz these people are helping me out.The embassy in Fiji know these people very well.I meet all the requirements. My medical and Police Clearance is also clear.I meet the education requirement as well.

I also have funds that is sufficient enough to last for at least six months as I'm a single guy.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear that...
Did they say that your application will be revised for further administrative processing?
How much average funds/assets do you have in your account for the past 6 months? Did you meet the 125% of poverty line?

Yes.The consular officer took all my original documents and said that it will be verified.I dont have a problem with that.It should be ok.As I didnt lie about anything. When I didnt know anything I simply said I dont know.

I dont need to meet the 125% poverty line. Its not compulsory in my case.

They just asked for an I-134 and my sponsors proof of citizenship and his 2008/2009 tax documents.

What are your thoughts now?

What makes you think you are above the guidelines? You stated you don't have a job offer because that only counts if it is on a letter head from a company and you know the people. That the person interviewing you know about these people doesn't make it a good thing...

IMO they think you can become a liability and they might check more into the group you described.

You want to study in the US which is very good for your future but how are you going to pay for that...you have no right to financial aid right away and plenty of US students and foreigners can't get into Colleges right now. Prizes have gone up and financial aid has gone done every single year, specially now that there are no jobs for every one looking for them, more people want to return to school.

Not becoming a liability is a major issue during the interview specially right now and perhaps it helped you that you have been so honest answering the questions, but if I were you I would try to get a new I-134 a.s.a.p. from a person who you know or try to get a job offer that is from a company you really have solicitated and not a group you don't even know...that might be a chance to change anything in your case.

I don't want to bust your dream, but KCC sends out 100,000 NL's and they only have 50,000 so they can be selective and just move to the next person with better papers. If you get denied you have to fill that out on every paper before entering the US because if you don't you lie and it will be in the computer system...so get started to get your chances up and get the right papers:) Good Luck, hopefully you will be approved and can move overhere a.s.a.p.:)

Hi Bentlebee.

Thnx for the reply. The officer interviewing me said tht theres no need for me to meet the 125% poverty line mark.He just wants to know if the group of people I'm talking about will really help me like I'm saying.Thts why he asked me to bring in the I-134 from the person whom I'll be living with.

The American Embassy in Fiji know these people.Thats the good thing. These people have not just helped me but other people too.

I think my paperwork is all ok.Its just the I-134.

But I'm really worried.

I don't want to scare you but if they know them so well and trust them they would have approved your case right away...so to me there is something with that group that they have to research which doesn't mean it is okay...

I would get started to get other options to obtain a I-134 or try to show proof of having funding up to or above 125% poverty line.....to avoid problems with people CP and USCIS will do anything to keep people leave in a calm way...

You still have time on your side since it is still March, so if I were you I would try to get another I-134 from a different person or try to get a job offer and start sending out letters and get on the phone...

I agree that they would have approved my case if they knew these people. But they didnt reject it either. I think I might have said something that would have given him doubts.About me becoming a public charge.

He wants an I-134 frm the same person who gave me the simple letter that I submitted during my interview. So now I cant look for anyone else to do that for me.But my sponsor is getting all those papers ready.

After I submit the papers as requested. Is there a chance that I could get rejected?I dont see any reason.

What are your thoughts now bentlebee?

I don't know I wasn't present at your interview and don't know if the group is legitimate or not...if you think it is fine, it probable will...one positive thing is that you weren't denied on the spot, so there is still a chance to get the GC and I don't see any reason why you couldn't be allowed to get a I-134 from some else...you can bring one I-134 or more if you want.

Thnx,

At least there is some hope.I'm jst praying that it all works out well.

Will let you know how it goes.

As far as I know, Administrative Processing involves FBI checkups within USA only... So it is mainly directed towards people who might have lived in USA, carry names that might be registered in FBI or who have security issue.

I don't think it is related to financial matters, or in your case, to your sponsors or Affidavit of support..

I might be wrong though..

Only a person living in the US can be a sponsor...or being a perminent resident or US citizen...

Relax guys.I'll let you know what happens when I go to drop off the I-134.Still waiting for it though.Hope it works out well. The consular just wants to be certain that I have someone in the USA who will help me out when I get there. The letter I gave wasnt sufficient enough to proof this and thats y he asked for the 1-134.One last question.Since I've already gone through the interview will I be re-interviewed when I go to drop off the I-134?

I dont think so aee?
