DV-2008 case number AS000093xx

Hi jjaspe, congratulations! You got a great case number!!!
Since your number is very low, your number is likely to be current in October or November 2007.

The highest number that I have seen for Asia is 15xxx which I read somewhere.

Regarding Case Number, for Asia KCC usually processes on average from 600 to 800 applications per month starting October lets say 2007 for DV-2008. Then just calculate how many months until it hits your number. If you have 9xxx, then it will take around 10 months until your turn comes up, which means August or September 2008. After September 31, 2008, for those whose winnings have not been processed, means no GC (real sorry for those).
Let's just hope they will have expedited processings for DV-2008, so all of us get the chance. Mine is 8xxx.

We're in the same boat then. Unless you're earlier than me, then you're eating my share. haha. Just kidding. Congratulation to you too!

Since this year's Asia NL % is second only to Africa, so logically and I'm hoping, that it gets higher GC share than previous years, which means that instead of the usual 7000-13000 GCs issued on previous years, maybe this time it could go to above 15,000. Then we are safe.

What I'm worried is that KCC's personnels will get workload share of the implementation of the new immigration bill, if it come to pass, which might slow down the DV processings, and thus less GC going to be issued till the expiry date of 31 Sept 2008. I hope it won't.
 
hi all,
i have case no AS000011xxx but i'm F1 visa right now. Does this mean that if i don't get the GC my F1 visa will be cancelled.

I heard it is the US state department that decide the nmber of visas per year for each region. as per statistcs your argument sounds logical though the state department has the final say in final figures.
there seems a trend of decrese in asian visa allocations for DV category.:D :D :mad: :( :confused: :rolleyes: ;) :p :eek: :eek:

hey 8yrsusa,
please don't disappoint us telling every year the trend of visa allocation is decresing..
lets hope this year all the asian getting NL so far will get the VISA.

Hi Avisek,

Don't worrk too much, coz it's just a remote possibility that some of the manpower from KCC (who is processing our DV) are going to be transferred to another division to handle implementation of the new immigration bill, which I presum will pass.

I'm from Indonesia, and I still suspect you will be eating my share. hehe

I recently received a notification letter For DV2008 with the case Number 2008AF00030xxx...Is this a too high Number:confused::confused: ? When do i expect to be called for the Interview?:(

hi everyone, i got my notification last week (may)2008AF00013XXX, i think it is relatively ok. my question is i live and work in the US with an h1 visa. i think i will do the AOS since i am here. do i need to send the forms (dsp 122 and ds230) to KCC now? or wait until my number becomes current to send the papers and file my adjustment of status?

I think you stand the chance.my problem is dat I have my primary,secondary and university certificates,but do not spend up to twelve years in both primary and secondary.Could this be a disadvantage during interview?

my status is similer to you. I am now in the us with H1 visa. I got notificaton letter with number 2008AS00011xxx. I think i will go for AOS, now trying to know about the process. i think only need to send DS - 122 KCC, not 230 !! not sure.

i jsut called and talked to KCC, i told them that i was planning on doing an AOS since i live here in the US. I asked the lady what i needed to do and she said, that all i had to do at this point is to fill in and send out the DSP122 form. and she said that after october 1st, i will be notifed again.
i also heard that some people dont really do anything until their number becomes current! i will keep ou posted/
