Dual citizenship

moreover one can do crime and take shelter into another country.......

It is often more difficult for dual citizens to do that. For example, Mexico will be more willing to extradite a dual US-Mexico citizen to the US than somebody who only holds Mexican citizenship.

Well i am totally against dual citizenship, how one can take the rights of two diff rent countries while others only for single country.moreover one can do crime and take shelter into another country.......

Shawn,

It is your right to be against dual citizenship, but the issue is who cares about what you are against? Seeking shelter from your native country for country committed in the US, if you are a US citizen isn't going to yield much.. I am not sure if you have been following the Jamaican alleged drug dealer case, he's not a US citizen, but the enormity of the crimes he's been accused of forced an extradition. Don't commit a crime and try to ran home, you will be caught. Here is an alternative, flee to UAE, US law can't reach you there. UAE states don't have any extradition treaties with the US govt, but traveling overseas from there will leave you exposed to snatch and grab from US officials.

You need a Beibehaltungsgenehmigung before assuming the US Citizenship, otherwise youy lose your German citizenship automatically. Check out the German consulate's website, which has the Antragsformular and also information on what you need to do to support the application. There is also a newsgroup on Yahoo, "Zweipaesse" which you might find useful.

BTW, does "live here" mean you live in the US or in Germany? Obviously, you need a green card first before applying for citizenship.
