Dual Citizenship & Military Service

Hi, I'm taking the Oath on August 6, 2009 and I'm thinking of having a dual citizenship. I'm joining the military once I'm an official U.S. Citizen (after the Oath). But my sister-in-law says I can't have a dual citizenship if I'm joining the military, I don't know why. I think it has something to do with security clearance or something. I've tried Googling but I get neutral results. Now, I want to know if anyone here's in the military and have a dual citizenship. Thanks!

I can not see why not. Even PRs can serve in the US military.

If you are a dual citizen (or even a permanent resident), your non-US country of citizenship may have a problem with you serving in the US military.
