i see some people with later ND got approved. so i just wondering if the location of where you live affect the processing speed? i live in the metropolitain area and my ND is oct 00, and i am still waiting.

No buddy! It does NOT have any effect. I am in the same boat and am very anxious about this crap why they have started on 2001 cases. But trust me, it does not matter where you live. Every thing is processed at Nebraska...

then can you fingure out any possible reasons why our cases have been delay?

Well lazer is special...USCIS will personally come and deliver his gc to him..in a black limo with all the fanfare and the GC in a lockbox...They will greet lazer with "YOU HAVE won"..and Lazer will faint....I think they are waiting for that moment..that only happens once a year by USCIS...

I heard that NYC is always the slowest places.

Also, I heard that some largest ethnical groups have unproportionally small number of approvals. FYI, the largest ethnical groups of asylees are Chinese, Columbian, Haitian, Indonesian.

:D :D Thanks wantmygcnow!! You should write a letter to Nebraska Service Center and tell them what a good and contributing member you are of this site... and then you can tell Nebraska staff at the end

"Want My GC Now".. :p ;)

I am sure they would listen.... :)

windywd:

What do you mean saying that these countries have unproportionally small number of approvals?

Thanks for your explanation.

according to government statistics, 6 countries listed above account for half of the asylees. a large law firm, like my attorney's firm, has the similar filing compenents, or even higher.

but, my attorney said that those 6 countries have only 25% of the total approvals. ok. security checks could be lenghthy for Chinese. but Haitian and Columbians? he told me he was also confused and guess either they approve this by region and those countries have more cases per officer, or they have some ridiculous internal guidelines.

CIS at Nebraska operates as an independent entity. So the Director and deputy directors have the power to set policy.... but wait a minute. have you guys ever noticed that EVERY "Director" is an "Acting Director" and even Deputy Directors are "Acting Deputy Directors"....

Does this tell you something??? They lack consistent leadership and in my view nobody wants to work there at Lincoln. Therefore whenever "acting director" leaves and new "acting director" comes in , he screws up the whole system. And employees get frustrated too as to what the heck is going on.

I only have this explanation for consistently "In-consistent" policy of Nebraska Service Center (why sometimes they ask for RTD back and sometimes they do not, before issuing RTDs, why 2001 cases are approved before 2000 and list goes on)

If somebody has better explanation , plz share with us.

well, i only wish my GC can come no later than this X`mas. that`s all!

Great wish!

Are you expecting GC-Greeting Card or GC-Green Card, or both?

I hope BCIS would meet you expectation and fulfill your wish, and send your Green Card in nice and decorated wrap with Congratulation Greeting Card. That seems a good Christmas surprise!! By the way, which Christmas are you talking about? 2005? Please be specific otherwise BCIS would delay processing your case, and send your GC by 2006 X-mas.

why everyone just mention that SEPT is the month we can get the card?

Well!! reason everybody mentions sept. is that Fiscal year of CIS ends on Sept. 30. So they have to clear their goals of this fiscal year by that date.

asluser! your timeline plz?
