My husband work for verizon over ten years now and he ask for a letter that states that he is still employed their and they claimed it is against their policy.
He even got his Union steward involve and was unsuccessful. They want to give a no. for the third party to call and verify this but the problem with this is when I called that no, the rep told me verizon was not suscribed to such service. Why cant he get a simple letter stating he currently works there?:(

Has anyone gone through this similar problem? What should I do?

that is weird... but i guess pay stubs will do the trick...

even then, if they won't give him an employment letter, ask them to give him a 'denial/against policy letter' or something that shows that.

Hi, can someone please tell on how i can post my blog? thanks...

Thanks. I took your advice and ask him to get the letter as you said.:D:D

What kind of HR department they have??? so how Verizon's employees do when apply for loans and stuff when the financial institution requires you to give an employment letter?

Because the stub does not says since when you have been employed anyway...some, but not all.

Would be interesting if your husband can take the "policy" explanation to the Department of Labor....huhuhuh.

They give them some no to access the info because he got it for another job but the rep told me thaat it does not apply for such thing as immigration. It is a bit confusing and stressful. A simple letter that he is employed there is a problem.

update: The so called policy that they claimed have been waived after I requested the denial letter. My husband does not know how to demand things, I have this problem with him all the time. He does not stand up for sthg he believes, he always listen to what the other party is saying with no questions asked.

Long story short, I will get the letter.:D:D

I thank God that I keep looking over my stuff meticulously because I did not even realize that I need a CERTIFIED copy of marriage certificate and not just a regular copy.

Who does this? Is it a notary public?

My wife would say the same about me....
Actually I do usually get what I want, just not through the frontal assault tactics that she uses. Got to pick your battles.

You need a copy straight from the Probate Judge office or Court House where you got the license.

:DLol... I figured that would do the trick ;)

the point is that nobody needs to demand an employment verification letter, one merely has to tell an HR office that he needs a letter like that by such and such date. It's such a simple procedure, we have it completely automated in my company.

Certified copy - it's the marriage certificate you got from the probate court to begin with - in order to apply for a GC you needed to enclose a regular xerox copy of it with your I-130 and I-485 application. I am sure you still have the "original". That "original" is called certified copy.

That is correct, as the "original original" is recorded in their archives.

Therefore, I have the certified copy if that is the case, thanks for clearing this up. It saved me a trip and time. I thought that this was the original, original.:D

Does it have the dry seal and signature of some clerk from their office? it is not "just" a xerox copy, it must have a seal, stamp, signature or all of them.
