Does the port of entry ever ask for pay-stubs?

I'm going to renew my TN visa as a Computer System Analyst and I was wondering if the port of entry will ask for pay-stubs. How do they verify that the applicant is actually being paid by his/her employer and not just using the TN visa to live freely in America.

Not required. Paystubs are to show current relationship; your TN letter does that. If a company isn't paying you, why would you renew with them, and they would send you with fake paystubs anyways.

the letter has a contact info, so they can call the sponsor.
