Does the immigration send an officer to your home?

Here is my question: Both me and my husband spend some nights of the week with families. He spends with his grandmother who has Alzheimer and I spend with my aunt since her husband passed away before thanksgiving, which was very sad to us. Would we have a problem with the application because of that? And do they send officers to visit you at your house without warning and if so, what happens if we are not home or just one of us is home?

In the rare event of USCIS sending over officers, neither scenario, not being home or just one being at home, will be an issue.

Would we have a problem with the application because of that? And do they send officers to visit you at your house without warning and if so, what happens if we are not home or just one of us is home?

Most likely they will do a surprise check but i dont think the presence of 1 person at that time will affect you.

It is very rare for them to do that. They'll only do that if there is something that makes them very suspicious about your case.

If they send somebody, they don't just look at who is home at that moment; they know that people have valid reasons for being away on any given night or week. However, they will look for evidence of both people living there. If your husband is not there, they'll ask where he is, and they'll expect to see some male clothes and shoes in the house.

Jackolantern said it right.. it all depends on if there is something that makes them very suspicious about your case.

If you an immigrant nudist, then ICE might want to see reasons for your naked exploits...lol!! Don't count on USCIS officer to visit your home, your case must reek of fraud complete with a pick-up full of weed for them to head this road. I wouldn't worry about seeing an IO at my doorstep, and you have to be home for them to find anything improper...like watching Glenn Beck on Fox News C...lol!
