Hi, I just got married and my wife needs my original I-797 for applying a H-4 visa. But my first H-1B is going to end in several month. I heard there maybe a background check for H-4 applicant, and it can take up to 3-5 months. what if the US embassy take away my original I-797 from my wife for a background check, then when I need to renew my H-1B, but my original I-797 is still at US embassy. So I really need to know if my original I-797 is needed for my H-1B renewal. Any info is helpful, thank you in advance........
