Document for EAD Renewal

Hi,

At this time I have valid H1-B on my passport.
My EAD is expiring in April 2004. Since I have valid H1 on my
passport, my employer and lawyer is of the opinion that I don't need to apply for EAD renewal at this time (for saving few $$$). As per my lawyer I can apply for my EAD renewal six months prior to my H1-B expiration date.

My question is

1. Can I apply for EAD renewal on my own. I think it will be better to have valid EAD (since my company is expecting few layoffs early next year, it would be better for me to have current EAD).

2. Apart from copy of I-485 receipt, 2 photographs, old copy of EAD card, I-94 copy, what documents I need to send ?

3. I need to do the application for me and my wife. Can I send both the applications in one package ? Or I should send it in different packages ?

------- also fill up the form I-765, USCIS fees $120, if you had EAD then copy of EAD both the sides and top portion that you received with first EAD, if service center is NSC then also send color copy of the first page of Passport that has your photograph and color copy of Driving license
3. I need to do the application for me and my wife. Can I send both the applications in one package ?
---------Don’t send in one package, they may mix the photographs and your EAD may have your wife photograph, better send separate envelops, in your wife envelope also send copy of marriage certificate, copy of her I-485 receipt notice+ the above

Or I should send it in different packages ?
-------Different and write out side the envelope in big bold letters FORM I-765 for EAD
 
Yes, any set of photos would work till they are within the immigration specs.

Online EAD application process is paperless and does not requires paper photos etc. U schedule an appointment with BCIS local office, and get your digital photos and fingerprints taken right there in BCIS office, which are electronically attached to ur application and are used for ur card. That is why u got the message when u tried online EAD renewal.

USCIS, CIS, BCIS.. all of them work.. Finally money gets credited to U.S. Treasury.

They are just interested in scalping ur money :-)
