I have posted a topic asking about political asylum few days ago.
as I mentioned I am a high school student in Syria (Syrian) ,I am going to graduate in 17 June.
as you know ,here in Syria you have to go to the army once you finish your high school (Bakaloria) unless you go to college.
for me I am not going to go to college ,going or not is not a solution nowadays because the government is not accepting that excuse and when you want to cross a checkpoint ,they will take you immediately to the Military Service whether you are a college-student or not.
after I graduate I have exactly 35 days before they pull me over.
so if I don't leave the country ,I will have 2 options:
the first one is to go to the Military and start killing people and then get killed ...
the other option is to go to the Military and try to defect ,and when I do that the Military-police will shoot me in the head before doing that.

so as you see the 2 options are ... (you describe it).

my dream since I was a kid was going to the US and studying Mechanical or Electrical engineering but now after the crisis >>the options are very limited.

I am thinking about applying for F-1 visa and after arriving to the US I will hire a lawyer to help me preparing for the Political Asylum process.
I can bring with me the army-calling warrant ,does it help anyway?
I mentioned before that I was arrested for 5 days by the intelligence and my father could get me out by paying thousands $ for them but unfortunately I can not prove that I was arrested because they don't give you any document which prove the arresting thing and you can't ask them to do so.

my English language is good and I can do the interview without needing a translator ,some 1 told me that the better you speak the less questions you have in the interview.>>is that right?

how much time does the Political asylum process take usually?
should I expect 1 year of waiting time??


any 1 who is Syrian and physically in the US ,please post a reply here and tell what do you think? and what is your advice generally?

You need to prove persecution and in my opinion, being forced to serve your country does not classify as persecution.
 
well theoretically you can come on f1 visa and apply for asylum.
the military warrant will help of course.
you don't need paper proof that you have been detained before they know that you can't get something like that
and yes it can take up to a year to get a decision and you can get it in 3 months no body knows depends on the office, the officer and simply luck
being able to speak english well is good but it doesn't necessarily gonna affect the result.
my advice is to try to secure the f1 visa first come here and consult with a couple of lawyers
and good luck
