I had my interview on Tuesday and at the interview I was given the letter saying that I will be notified of decision by mail... My question is, does USCIS send you a separate decision letter and then a separate Oath Letter... or do you just get an Oath Letter? (obviously this assumes application approval)
Thanks.

My understanding is, if you are approved, you will receive a oath letter directly. Otherwise, they will tell you that the case was denied.

Oath letter if approval letter. maslouj did not get the interview result letter
at the conclusion of his interview because he had voted before. Then between his interview and his oath, he got theinterview result letter mailed
to him saying "recoomended for approval". Any other occation one get letter between oath letter and interviews are further request for evidence , notice for second interview etc.

I had a second interview last May ( no decision made ) Will you guys think the second interview is the last interview before the oath letter or the uscis can ask for more interviews plz reply

Different oath letters

Folks, a friend of mine is in the same boat : interviewed last week (got approval and OATH Letter) and then got another OATH LETTER via mail which PUT X mark to all BOX for documents to bring including: "Refugee Document or Re-entry Permit ". The letter he got at the interview location did not ask for this, just GC, identification document and approval letter/OATH letter.

He told me he never had or applied to "Refugee Travel Document or Re-entry Permit"...he had EAD and AP before GC...should he be worried ? Or is this just standard letter?

It is standard letter. It just meant that at th eoath you should surrent all your old immigration documents. If you do not have them,
do not bring them. For most PRs, I believe current green card and expired green cards are only thing they have. All other
docuemnts are suppsed to be given back to USCIS already atthe time of ordering GC

Hi there....

hi there what u mean Od BY PHONE ?
because i am waiting for my oath letter

I received my Oath Date by phone before I received my Oath Letter... I was called by USCIS to invite me to a special ceremony to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of Angel Island (like Ellis Island but in San Francisco)... That's what I mean... I received the actual Oath Letter a few days after that phone call, but at that stage I already new my Oath Date. Hope that helps :)

Folks, one more question: Can OP make an appointment with Passport agency before oath date so that right after the Oath Ceremony on the same day to apply for expedited passport processing ?

Yes... You definitely can... in fact i called the passport agency and they recommended that I do that... (I have to travel 2 days after my oath date) so I have an appointment on the same day as my oath. (about one hour after it ends) Remember though, that you must have an itinerary from the airline in order to get a regional passport agency appointment and they only take appointments 14 days in advance. Good luck
:)

to Helphelp1 , what do you exactly mean by " the second interview " ? , how was the first interview ? did the officer give you recommended approval ? or No decision ? I never heard about second interview. Usually only one interview either you passed ( they gave you recommended approval) or No decision. I have a friend who has one DUI and one misdemeanor, the IO gave him No Decision on his interview, then 2 months after he got letter explaining that he is not eligible tobecome USC , But he may re apply after 3 years from the date he was interviewed.

I interviewed two weeks back and got a letter 'no decision is made at this time' because i was two weeks short of my five yrs; and the IO told me that it will be approved, but then I got a letter asking for my marriage certificate; I sent that one last week and now I am waiting for approval/oath letter. I am three days after my five yr anniversary. I hope there wont be a second interview; I am just concerned, i hope it will be approved, dont want another inteview. Does it update online too, whena case is approved? long journey, i hope it will be over soon.
