Do we need AP when going to Hawaii/Alaska

Did anybody fly to Alaska or Hawaii while on AP?

Are these considered domestic or international flights? Do we need AP to enter Alaska/Hawaii and then to come back to the inland.

Thanks!

I think ALASKA and HAWAII are still part of USA.
So you might not need AP if you take direct flights.

Hawaii and Alaska are considered domestic US flights but I would avoid traveling to HI or AK till I get the green card. (just to rule out the possiblity of having to deal with INS).

These States are part of USA

No AP required
Go in peace. I just came back from a wonderful vacation in Hawaii.

We should still enjoy the journey to our GreenCards

You should know better than that. :)

According to that logic one should stay away from international airports when flying - although I must admit that I never went to Terminal E when sightseeing around Hartsfield for the same fear!

Well, the only time I can justify this paranoia is the very high possibility of an emergency flight landing on a foreign country (ex: Japan, Canada) due to threat, etc. This will automatically ensure that you get a temporary visa in that foreign country at which time, INS as well as applicants can get confounded on the onward journey to HI/AK because of this issue.

Didn't I term this as paranoia? Sure, I did :) However, I will be happy to travel within the 48 continuous states in lieu of the 50 contiguous states.
