Do Not Have Visa Information to fill out Part 3 of I-485

Hello

I am currently filling out I-485 to apply for a green card through marriage to a US Citizen.
I have a question regarding one of the fields in Part 3, Section A about nonimmigrant visa number, date issued, and consulate where it was issued.

Unfortunately I don't have that information as I do NOT have a tangible F-1 visa. I have F-1 visa status (Approval Notice) because I changed status from H-4 to F-1 within in the US.

I recently traveled to Mexico on vacation, while on F-1 visa status, and re-entered the US without having to get a new visa outside the US because travel to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean is exempt for F-1 status holders from having to get a new visa (if they only on visa status) before re-entry.

How would I go about filling out this part of I-485? Would I just write "See Attached Continuation Sheet" and explain my situation?

My H-4 visa expired almost 5 years ago. I've been on F-1 visa status since then. This mexico trip was my first trip outside the US since initial entry about 10 years ago.

Should I still provide information about my H-4 visa on that field of the form?

Give them all the info that you have. You entered as an H-4 and switched to an F-1. If you look in page 3, Initial Evidence item #3 is talks about an actual visa obtained abroad in the last year.

For you, "see attached" and attach copies of the H in your passport and your I-797 F-1 approval (and most recent I-120). They will check you in SEVIS anyway, you may as well speed up their process to your own benefit. The easier you make their job, the quicker they can decide your case.
