Do I need to tell lawfirm that I already have a TN

Hi there

I recently got my TN approved by a firm (lets say A), haven't started working for them yet. I got another offer from B (that I want to keep handy just in case A does not work out - they dont like me, I dont like them whatever). So, I have not told B about offer from A.

The issue is that the TN application form offered by B is asking if I applied for non-immigration visa before. Here are the few questions I have

1) Am I bound to tell lawfirm hired by B about my TN visa application? If I dont, would there be complications at USCIS?

2) If I tell them, would they share those details with B or is there some sort of client-lawyer privilege?

Please help

You need to tell them your current status.
The I-129 is actually filed by your sponsor, not you, so they ARE the client.

They will not tell 'A' however, which should be more of your concern.

Thanks Nelsona, appreciate the prompt reply.

What if I deny that I already have a TN under processing, which is expected to finish by the time they start processing theirs. Would it have any effect on my current visa.

You said you have an approved TN with A. To say anything else is known as "lying". It would affect your trustworthiness and probably get you fired for A, B, or both.

Besides, if your I-129 is filed incorrectly (due you providing misinformation), your original TN can be inadvertently voided.

D'ya get my drift?
