Do I need to get Interpreter?

I have applied for AOS, based on my naturalized US citizen spouse. I have got interview in August last week. My interview letter says, you should bring interpreter, who is neither your relative nor interested party in your application, if you don’t speak English fluently. However it doesn’t mention the need of the interpreter, if petitioner is not fluent in English.

Now my question is:

I am fluent at English, but my US citizen (Naturalized) spouse is not fluent at English. As it is must to take my spouse to the interview, should I get the interpreter? My spouse can understand and even can answer the questions (off course went thru the naturalization interview alone, and passed it), but not fluently. What should I do? Any suggestions, comments are appreciated.

Please, respond if you have any comments, or ever been in same kinda situation.

I couldn't be in that situation since I am l not in the step for interview. But if you consider that both of you will be fine without an interpreter then you shouldn't have to worry.

Actually the only person that can answer that decision is you. How you feel about it? you can be sure for yourself, how your husband feel about it? If he is not sure (since he is the one who is not fluent in English) then you should consider his decision to take an interpreter or not.

Now, my question is when he got his GC how he did during his process before? did he hired an interpreter?

good luck,

If he is a citizen (naturalized for that matter) and PASSED the naturalization interview she should be able to defend herself. Worst case scenario you can bring someone and may need to answer a couple of questions, that's all.
