Do I need the approval letter for passport stamping

My 485 is approved in June 25, but I have not receive the approval letter. DO I need it for PP stamping? How long it takes to get the letter.

Looks like TSC just do not want to release me.

It looks like it depends on the local USCIS, but you would need at least a courtesy notice (USCIS Atlanta accepts the courtesy notice for passport stamping).

How long it takes to get the letter.

I was approved June 29 and received my courtesy notice July 6. My lawyer still did not receive the original notice, though. I guess the Indepedence Day delays the mail, so wait a few more days and it will come.
