Do I need an AP

Hi,
Please advise.
Does a canadian citizen with J1 visa and working in US need to get AP for traveling to other countries. Canadian does not need an entry stamp, even for J1 visa.

AP is required

for all 485 adjustees who do not have a valid H or L visa. AP is to preserve the continuance of 485 process (since the basic premise is that you plan to stay in US until you get green card).

In the memo exempting H and L visa holders nothing was mentioned about canadian citizens.
U need to search the INS memos...
