I have a conditional GC, when I filed for it neither me nor my husband had enough income to be sponsors, luckily we have a friend who agreed to sign the sponsorship papers for me. Now i need to remove conditions from my GC and i'm not quite sure if we need a sponsor again, cause my husband is still a student and i'm unemployed for over 4 months now?
And another question is: if i can apply for unemployment having a conditional GC? If I can,Is it going to hurt me somehow when i file for permanent GC?

yes you can get unemployment with temp GC. And no you do not need a sponsor when removing conditions.

Your friend is legally the sponsor until you become USC (plus some other cases). I would advise you to stay away from applying for unemployment benefit.

UI is employer-paid insurance, not a means-tested benefit, and the state cannot go after the sponsor to repay UI.
