Do I need a lawyer or a representative???

Hello folks,
I'm currently eligible to apply for greencard through asylum. My question for you guys is whether I need a lawyer or a representative for this case? I did my medical exams, the eligible doctor gave me a sealed envelop that I shouldn't open according to his instructions. If I send my I-435 to the Nebraska Svces Center, do I need to send this envelop containing medical exam at the same time?
Please help me solve this puzzle.

I will go until my citizenship without lawyer. But that's me I don't advise that to anybody.

If you have had a lawyer doing this for you in the past then I recommend you keep doing it with your representative. It could save you a lot time and money. but if you are able to read and understand, you may also go through the instructions which is very clear by the way, and submit your application yourself.

Thank you

As you've just stated I've never used any lawyer or representative services before. When I applied for asylum, I wrote everything by myself and was juts optimist. Ok what does the instructions say about the medical exam? Do I need to send this envelop along with my application?
I look forward to hearing from you.

You can send it together with the I-485 application!

These are the instructions from USCIS website "Submit the completed Form I-693, sealed in an envelope from the physician, with your Form I-485 package, to the Service Center or District Office where you are filing your adjustment of status application."

Or do you find out your results some other way??

These are the rules. USCIS require for the envelope to be sealed from the doctor so there is no fraud as some medical conditions do not allowed to adjust status. Many times the doctor gives a copy for your records if not one should ask for a copy.

Thank you :) (I'm filing for GC in 4 months :D)

I think you should not have any problems if you do it without a lawyer.

I agree with you

Yes you guys are totally right. I've just received the envelop containing the medical exam. The doctor gave me a copy of it, everything looks perfect form my prospectives. The only thing I should do now is to fill out the I-435 form and send it to the USCIS as soon as possible.

It is 485 not 435.

Oh sorry you're right

Thank you Thankful for the remark, you're absolutely right it is I-485 instead of I-435 as I wrote it before.

I can predict that you will be approved now that Thankful decided to write 6 ( six ) words about your questions.

I personally prefer to send my I485 application without the I693 sealed envelope. Wait for them to ask for this as an RFE. that is what i did and after i filed, they asked for it within two weeks. The reason am saying this is coz sometimes they will ask yu for medical again even if u sent it earlier. and yu will have to go back to the doc to get another original medical written to send. The instructions for asylee says we should not send medical with application but wait for them to ask for it. But then again most pple have sent it with application and all went well. Am just giving my personal opinion. and please don't waste money with a lawyer, do it yourself. it is very easy.
