divorced without consent before approval!

Jackolantern, I did think about that and did consult with a lawyer in Guam and he told me it would cost $2000,I just dfid/do not have that kind of money and I asked the court also and they told me it was too late, there was a period to appeal but I was late because I never knew about it. That would be interesting since he is remarried now to her, wonder if that is valid? I'm just worried, confused and still mad!

Is your GC worth that much money to you?

Despite what brain-dead court workers say, judges can always toss out a judgment based on insufficient notice, because the time period for an appeal is pointless if you were never properly served. I'd work on getting the divorce overturned, especially if your husband knew where you lived. It's possible (or even likely) he swore a false affidavit to avoid proper service. The possibilities for revenge are broad... ;)

It is worth it ...I did not have nor the means and I did ask for a loan...only family is my mom and I support her. At the time i was just so shocked And hit with every emotion that I just could not handle it. I am going to look into it because he did sign an affadavit stating "to the best of his knowledge" that he provided the correct info but I have enough proof that he knew because HE signed the lease here in the states...I will keep an update her on the board..thank you!

You have a lot of ammunition. He signed the lease, and I'm sure he had a phone number or email address for you so he could have contacted you to find out the address if he didn't remember the apartment number (dig up your phone records and emails to see when he called or emailed you).

I bet he also lived at or visited that address before moving to Guam, and/or mailed you something else to that address before filing for divorce. I can't see how the "to the best of his knowledge" will hold up in court, given all his avenues for knowing the right address. He deliberately or negligently used an incorrect address, in order to take away your ability to challenge the divorce.

Given his bad faith issues in handling this, you may be able to sue him to recover your attorney's fees and/or get some alimony or a settlement from him which can be used to pay the attorney. Talk to the divorce attorney about possibly taking the case on a contingency basis. And about challenging his current marriage as well.
