Hi Guys,

Yesterday I talked to USCIS cust service.

I dialled 1-2-6 and got to a very nice CS lady (who obviously could only tell me that my case is pending.) so I told her can you transfer me to an IO and she said yes she will. so she put me on hold and transferred me to an IO. he just asked me my name and A number and within a second told me it is pending. and thats it..
I was hoping to chit chat with IO and get some answers but that was it..

My question is did I talk to IO or she just transferred me to someone at the same level and I got the same response..:(

anyone?

by the way my PD is 04/07 and FP-05/07 - Newark DO

Thanks in advance

Thats what I heard. 2nd level support are IO. but they usually do not provide anything other than pending information. I have called them probably 15 times so far and every time I talk to an IO they I hear that case has been transfered to a supervisor for review but date of case transfer is always different. I am not sure why this date changes. today an IO told me they the case status is couple of weeks old.

did that person asked ur info such as ur DOB? address, ur full name and ur receipt number?
from my experience, if the CSR transfer u to an IO, he/she will not put u on hold, and he/she will say good bye to u before transfer u to the IO, when u talk to a CSR, don't meation any thing, just tell the CSR u filed N400 for a couple of months but no receipt noice was issued and no receipt number, the CSR will transfer u to the upper level support after he or she ask u several questions, then talk to the IO, if the IO says it's pending, then there is no way u can speed it up.

If they asked your A# then it was an IO since CSRs can't pull any info up by your A# since they don't have enough access. Did you ask if your case is in queue for an interview?

But he filed in 04/07 and that is not couple of months ago, it is more then a year ago and sho he should have the receipt number by now. If he says couple of months ago to customer represen. the call is being recorded and what will he say to IO then?

If you haven't picked up on it yet from previous threads, this has been the fail safe method to get a CSR to transfer you to an IO. The call may be recorded for quality purposes, but the IO can't listen in on what you tell the CSR nor is it a warm transfer.

He filed in 04/07 and got fingerprints done. The customer represen. will ask when did you file your case or ask for receipt date. When he tells it was in 04/07, the customer represen may have very hard time believing that story.

The whole point is to get transferred to an IO. Saying that you filed more than 30 days ago but haven't received a receipt is the trigger for CSR to transfer to to an IO. Even if you told the CSR you filed over 1 years ago and didn't receive a receipt they would still transfer you as it is protocol to do so instead of questionoing the validity of your statement.

did not ask..

Hi Bob,

He just told me his name and asked how can I help you.

I told him my story abt background check and whether it has been cleared..to that his response was "pending". I did not ask further about interview queue.

I was surprized because from the posts here I see that IO ask many questions..before they look in records..for me he just asked my name first and then A#..thats it..

I suppose it is not cleared yet..:(

anyways thanks for the info Bob and others who responded...

Regards

seriously, Bob is right,
i just did it this afternoon, the CSR just transferred me to an IO W/O asked me the date of filing, they just asked me several simple questions i believe everyone who called that number should answered those questions, after i answered those questions, i told that girl i didn't receive the first receipt notice, so she said sorry to me and then transferred me to an IO, and for sure, the IO will ask u ur personal infomation to make sure u r the right person,

Need advice on a pending Citizenship case

My wife and I applied for U.S. Citizenship (N-400) at the same time. We both passed the interview-civic tests on the same day. My wife has already received the oath letter on July 2nd, but I am still waiting. Once my wife gets her Citizenship on August 6th, can she apply for a U.S. passport for my 12 year old son (Green Card holder)? Or do we need to wait until I receive my Citizenship which may take longer than anybody can imagine? Anybody else on the same boat?
