Guys,

I know it is not a good idea to risk going back to home country for an Asylee. But what if due to any family tragedy or some emergency we got to go. Has anyone had such an experience. What happened on the way back? Anyone would like to share?
thx,

Look! Going back home will prove that you do not fear for your life anymore and that the grounds for your asylum no longer exist. Trust me, the INS idiots would love to take away any privilege from you if they have a chance to do that. So, do not give them a chance to destroy your case and revoke your status. A viable possibility is to visit a neighboring country. Before 9/11, things were not that black and white but now they are. This is an honest advice and I wish you luck my friend.

Thanks for your opinion.
I understand we should not go to our home country. And i don't have any plans to do so. But you can't foresee .What if there is a death in your family. You can't tell them to bring the body to neighbouring country. What i would like anyone to share is, his experience , if he had to go?

Yes, the have stipulastions for emergency cases.
I know a guy who when home after his father passwd away. The guy could not afford an attorney, who were charging $2000 to take the case; Even though they were not going to do anything differently. He was a refugee and had been in this country for only 1year when his dad passwd away. He did not have a RTD and had to apply for the emergency RTD which the immigration sent to his home country in Russia. When he came back he showed them a copy of death certificate for his dad. The ins guy asked him a bunch of questions, and informed the him that he was introuble for returning home, but my friend told them the truth.
