Did any body got their work permit approval after concurrent filing?

Does it necessary to get your I 140 to be approved to get approval of work permit for concurrent filers.

Does anybody got thier work permit approved before their I-140. By the way how long it takes to approve work permit. The recepit says it is inbetween 60-90 days. But i wonder like I 140 that is not corret either.

I think every concurrent filer is in the same boat....who ever got their I-140 approved they were lucky as it seems like it's jamming the processing for I-140 and I-485 as well. I think it's better if we keep posting the info we get. I don't know what it means for
I-140 but I got my FP notice last week...with 485 RD of 09/20/02.

I have 09/21 RD but still haven't got the FP. As per immigration-law breaking news INS is not processing 140/485 applications for more information goto www.immigration-law.com & in breaking news go down to 10/03/02 you will get all the explanation.

I don't see any old Boston DOL forum's memer no more here in
I-140/485 section. I don't know where "ygondhu" and Atul_H are, I don't see any post from them either.

If you look at my reply to Abhaya's post then I pointed to the same URL you are talking about. That's the site I check everyday for the INS updates. The info on that site about the breaking news is up-to-date in most cases. I just got my FP last week only so I hope you should be getting within this week. Good Luck and be in touch!

My lawyer filed my I-140 on 9/23 ....

but I have still not heard anything. I wonder INS has stopped all concurrent filers processing or what. Hopefully we should get FP soon since PT_JUNE01 got last week. BTW PT_JUNE01, what is your RD for I-140? Mine is 09/11

Did you mean, you filed I-140/1-485 alltogether(concurrent filing) on 09/11?

My I-140 RD is 07/22. I filed my I-485 with the "I-140 receipt"
on 09/06(MD 09/06 RD 09/09, ND 09/20) and got the FP notice last week. I think you should get it soon. Good Luck!

No, My I140 RD is 09/11 but

My lawyer filed my I-485 on 09/23. That means it will take some time before I get FP or EAD/AP looks like.

EAD approved (Concurrent filing)

Just checked on the INS web page and it says my EAD has been approved as of Oct 8th, 2002. Anybody know how long for getting the card?

My 140 is not approved yet (ND - 5/22/02). I filed for EAD/485 with 140 receipt on Sept 3rd, 2002. I received FP notice for Oct 11th.

I guess this is good news for me since my H1 is running out next month.

Concurrent filers, have hopes and good luck to us.

I am here, I140 RD Jun 21 pending
I485 RD/ND Aug 21 pending
FP notice on Sep 4 , will get FP done on Oct 24
EAD, will go to boston next week , don't know any rule change to prevent us to get EAD from Boston.

I know one guy luckymb just got EAD from Boston (Oct 7) , he is in the same concurrent boat.

Please keep the post like we did it in Boston LC post, It really helped, I read all the message each day.

PT, please provide some leadership to maintain a good post to share the valuable information.

In the link you provided, as I understand it, they do not say I-140 has to be approved for EAD/AP. They say that it has to be either approved or a preliminary eligilibitly of I-140 has to be verified. In other words if they find that you are eligible for I-140 it paves the way for EAD/AP. It is another issue whether they will approve I-140 or hold it till later date. It is totally out of my understanding why they cannot approve i-140 if they have seen the eligibility.

Anyways, if it was so clear, then you would not be dealing with INS, right? :)

My EAD has been approved as of Oct 8th.
FP notice is for Oct 22nd

I140 - RD 4/11/02 and still waiting. Approaching 180 days.
I1485 - RD 9/13/02.
 
Finally I got finger print too. Hope i will get EAD approval soon.

My FP is scheduled for Nov 8th... i got the notice yesterday. The notice date is October 3rd.
The priority date is mentioned as Sep 19th (What does that mean?).
What should we carry for FP, other than the notice,passport and drivers license?

Kindly let me know when you check was cashed for 485 filing.
I mailed mine & they received it on October 02, 2002. I did not hear anything after that I think it's too soon for me. But I was checking my bank site to see if my check was presented but it's not, atleast they should have cashed my check.
Anyway if you can tell me after they recieved your paperwork, how long it took for them to cash your check. I appreciate your answer.

Honestly I don't know when my check was cashed!

The check was paid by the attorney firm . According to our company policy we should not contact our attorney. Even then, that gentleman won't reply for questions like that.
Don't worry -- wait patiently, i got the FP notice after 20 days from RD.
