Hi All,

Apparently I misunderstood the process. My wife USC applied I-130 for her parents who are overseas. I thought that they will need to fill out I-485 after I-130 gets approved but I heard from a recent response that this is not the way it is done!!

Could anyone refer me and tell me how can they apply for the green card after I-130 gets approved?

What are the forms that we will need? Do we need the finiancial sponsor paperwork as well? How about the medical Forms? Is there any post that talks about this in details?

Thank you all

I-485 is filed only for adjustment within the US. For consular processing they'll file DS-230* instead of I-485, but only after the I-130 has been approved and forwarded to the consulate, and the consulate has contacted them about it.

*some consulates are starting to accept DS-260 online filing instead of the paper DS-230

Thank you very much for your response. Is there any more details about the whole process?

Thanks,
