can a DERIVATIVE ASYLEE visit cop with GC and do we need travel document as well.Any help will be highly appreciated.thanks in advance

Didier, if you have a GC, I'd urge you to apply for RP which is valid for 2 years. Typically, derivative asylees' visit to homeland won't raise the flag because they're not directly affected but I suppose it all depends on each individual's case.

And what documents would he show at his COP's airport before boarding the flight back "home" i.e. states?

ok correct me if i m wrong so can we still use NP to travel back and forth even on GC

I didn't say it was definitely ok. This has been discussed here a lot. There is no clear policy on this from USCIS. International law would dictate that an asylee shouldn't use his/her NP, but USCIS seems to be ok with it. Some IOs even encourage you to use/renew your NP. So, it depends on how comfortable you are using it, and how your home country will respond to seeing your GC with an AS category (do they know what it means?). If you can justify your use of your NP, you will be ok.

I am a derivative asylee and I've travel out of the country without a NP once and it raised an issue in the country I was travlling to because they need to see a NP. They don't consider the RTD a passport. This is something that you present to the immigration officer upon your entry in the United States. Even since I got my GC I've always used my GC and NP and it was never an issue. I even travelled back to my country and noone have said anything about it.

Some countries do not recognise the RP/RTD, but most do, though even in those countries there are IOs who have never seen one, or don't know how to process it.

Hi I'm in similar situation. need help.

My wife is a derivative asylee. Got her citizenship. Her Indian passport is expired. Applied for OCI for travelling and got rejected. How can I correct her situation? We are planning for travel next month. Not sure if indian consulate will grant visa. Please give me some advice.
