Delay in getting my ssn

hi all,

I am an international student in US. I have applied for my SSN in Feb 05 , and i still dint get my card!
With out that i feel im literally handicapped!
I am not eligible to do any thg out here!
I went to track the dealy, but the office gives no reply except to "Wait".

Kindly , let me know if there is any thg i can do to get my card?

CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW COME YOU ARE HANDICAPPED?
I am not criticising, but i want to know what kind of hardship for a student in a dorm without a SSN?

So many students even finished their graduate studies without SSN on their H4 visa?

I am not eligible to do any thg out here!

Delay in ssn

hi sir,

i have seen ur reply!
I m on F1 visa right now!
The rule starting from jan was that unless we get an on campus job, we r not eligible to apply for ssn!

i cud manage to get an on campus job, and now that i am paid, my ssn card really counts a lot and is a matter of concern to me!
I was waiting for my Card since march and its getting late day by day!
I am frequently vising the ssn office but, only for my disappointment!

kindly let me know what i can do?
